Nothing beats earning more miles from than usual that you know, it is never a passive game but an active game of cards. Would you rather earn 1 miles or 4 miles from $1 spent?
If you’ve not started, 4miles right now is one of the easiest, highest MPD (miles per dollar) you can get for general spending. However, if you’ve googled about “highest mile card”, you would probably have heard about 6 MPD (UOB’s Lady). IMO, I’d this is only good if you’d have a frequent transaction habit on a specific category.
So what are the two cards I think are optimal based on your spending habits:
$1K Monthly Spending Habit:
- Citi Rewards Card (4MPD) + Amaze (for Offline Transaction)
– Rewards the first $1k spent through online transaction (doesn’t include Applepay/Paywave | Travel transactions)
– Amaze converts your offline transaction to online transaction (paywave)
$2K Monthly Spending Habit:
- Citi Rewards Card (4MPD) + Amaze
- HSBC Revolution (4MPD)
– Rewards of 4MPD on 1k per month / this doesn’t include (too much to type out) but it includes alot of items that we (the average people) do spend on.
Obviously there are many more exclusions than whatever i’ve just typed out, if you’d really want to dig further, would strongly recommend https://milelion.com/ and their telegram group.
The hole doesn’t end here, the mastery continues. How do I buy large ticket item and still earn miles on them? (i.e $3k Gucci bag paying instantly will only earn you (4K miles + (0.4MPD * $2k))
- “Paylater” functions that allows you to pay with your credit card where monthly deduction of $1K will earn you 12K Miles
- CitiPayall – Delayed payments will earn your miles through their program
– This function is very interesting as it also allows you to earn miles through certain bills (Insurance, income tax, utilities, etc)
This game will never end, soon amaze might be nerfed (hopefully not) by citibank and 4miles will be the highest. Nonetheless, if you’re working and living, you should learn how to play the game.
Other cards are not used for comparison because i’ve decided that these 2 are suffice for now till my networth grows.
